Samsung’s Galaxy A36 5G Launches March 28 for $529

Samsung has revealed its new affordable device, the Galaxy A36 5G. This will be the first A series smartphone from Samsung to offer Awesome Intelligence as well as provide the security the company is known for.

Galaxy A36 5G isn’t a drastic overhaul of last year’s Galaxy A35 5G. The new device carries over the 6.6-inch AMOLED display, capable of supporting 120Hz. The device also features rounded corners with a pinhole camera cutout for the front-facing 13-megapixel camera. On the rear, the device sports a 50-megapixel triple camera array with an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 5-megapixel macro lens, the same as last year’s model.

While retaining the same 5,000mAh battery, Samsung is supporting 45W super-fast charge 2.0 technology. This is a notable improvement from the Galaxy A35’s 25W fast charging support. Another upgrade the Galaxy A36 5G offers is the adoption of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm. It also supports the use of One UI 7. This by and large is the heart of what enables Galaxy AI features and support on the smartphone.

It’s no surprise that Samsung is placing a lot of emphasis on Awesome Intelligence and Galaxy AI this year for the A36 5G. For instance, the Galaxy A36 5G is confirmed to support Circle to Search, an arguable standout amongst Google’s AI features. Additionally, Galaxy A36 5G will also feature the Shazam-like AI feature known as Song Search. This enables users to identify songs that are being played. Users can also hum or sing a version of the song and have the feature render results.

As for AI-powered camera features, Galaxy A36 5G offers the ability to use Object Eraser. Featured across flagship Galaxy smartphones, Onject Eraser lets users remove unwanted objects or distracting shadows from their images. The AI-powered Filters also let users extract colours and styles from existing photos and apply them as custom filter creations.

Samsung’s Galaxy A36 5G launches today in Canada. Starting now, you can pick up the 128GB model for $529.99.

Its interesting that they did not release the A56 in Canada! Looks like they are shifting back on the A series line here in Canada these days, and pushing the S line more!
