Shōgun Season 2 to Begin Filming in Vancouver This January

Shogun season 2.

Disney+ has announced that the hit series Shōgun will begin filming its second season in January 2026 in Vancouver, B.C.

The first season of the FX and Disney+ show became the most-watched program in FX history and picked up a record 18 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. Lead actor Hiroyuki Sanada became the first Japanese actor to win an Emmy in his category, while Anna Sawai became the first actress of Asian descent to win Lead Actress in a Drama.

Based on James Clavell’s novel, Shōgun was adapted for television by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, who have created an entirely new story for the upcoming season. The next chapter takes place ten years after the events of season one and continues the fictionalized saga of Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Sanada) and English pilot John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis).

Sanada and Jarvis will both return to their roles, with Sanada also joining the production team as Executive Producer. Disney says the new season will continue the show’s focus on historical drama and cross-cultural conflict, with the same creative team behind the award-winning first season.

Filming will be handled by FX Productions. The first season of Shōgun was also filmed in B.C., with locations in Vancouver, Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Ucluelet (near Tofino) on Vancouver Island.

$18,654—that’s what I earned last month by doing simple online work. It still surprises me how easy it was to start. I found this job while scrolling online, gave it a try, and now I get paid every week for easy work I do in my own time. It’s not one of those tricky things where you need to invest money or sell stuff. Just simple work, clear instructions, and real payments. If you're tired of fake promises and want something that actually pays, this one really worked for me.
