Google’s Pixel Pokes Fun at iPhone 17 Rumours in New Ad
![]()
Google has released a new video as part of its ongoing #BestPhonesForever ad series, this time mocking rumours about the iPhone 17’s upcoming design—while highlighting how often Apple has followed Pixel’s lead.
Titled “Responding to Rumors”, the short clip features animated versions of the Pixel and iPhone characters in a playful back-and-forth. Pixel brings up the speculation around iPhone’s next big redesign, prompting iPhone to sarcastically suggest, “Can you imagine me doing the same thing you did first, years later?”
The video pokes at past examples where Apple introduced features after Google, including:
- Night Mode, which arrived on iPhone a year after Pixel’s Night Sight
- Clean Up tool, following Pixel’s Magic Eraser by three years
- Home screen widgets, which Pixel had since launch
“Anyway, we want to remind everyone these rumors are just rumors,” Pixel says—only for iPhone to immediately repeat the line word-for-word, hilariously. Check out the ad below:
This ad series by Google is pretty funny. The iPhone 17 series is said to feature a camera bar that looks to be similar on what is on the Pixel 9 Pro.

That's so true. LOL. I would love to have the iPhone keyboard numbers on the top row, or at least provide the user with an option to enable that feature.
