It’s not just Fido users that are getting free data, but parent company Rogers is also doling out freebies as well. Some Rogers customers are getting a surprise deal—40GB of free data every month.
A user on RFD shared a screenshot of the message they got from Rogers. The message says:
“We think you deserve more so we’re giving you more data for FREE! Yeah, you read that right. We’ll add a Bonus 40GB/month on your current plan today—no added cost, no new contract, no kidding!”
The offer seems to pop up when you check your Rogers account. It’s not clear who exactly qualifies, but if you’re with Rogers, it might be worth checking your account for any bonus data offers.
While Rogers and Fido (which is offering 30GB) like to give out extra data periodically, many said they would rather see lower monthly plans instead.
Most of the time these extra data bonuses are one way to entice customers to stick around, as the extra data sweetens their plan. The 40GB of free data likely won’t even be used up by the average user in a month.
