Apple Seemingly Developing Calendar App Refresh, According to Job Posting

Apple is seemingly working on a Calendar app refresh. News of this arrives as a new job posting has been sighted by Macworld‘s Filipe Espósito.

On the Careers at Apple page, a senior software engineer position has been posted. Within the job description, it’s said that the hired personnel will work within a team that will “reimagine what a modern calendar can be across Apple’s platforms.” The posting was published on April 29th, 2025. The role requires the candidate to have six years of experience in Swift and SwiftUI.

It’s interesting to note that in April 2024, Apple acquired Canadian startup company Mayday Labs. The startup had developed an AI-powered calendar app that can automatically assign and schedule events based on optimal times for the user. The app was designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

At the time, the news of the acquisition was disclosed in a filing made under the EU’s Digital Markets Act. Apple never publicly made mention of why it acquired Mayday Labs. The company was closed later after the acquisition. It’s likely Apple is developing some sort of integration of Mayday Labs’ technology.

There’s no word on when Apple’s refresh of the Calendar app may be shown. However, we now know that the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is being held from June 9 to June 13. Here’s where we’re likely to see the latest updates across iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS and other pieces of software. Perhaps Apple may pull the curtain back during WWDC 2025.
