Apple Introduces New AI Features to Logic Pro for Mac, iPad

Apple has unveiled a significant update to Logic Pro for Mac and iPad, introducing advanced AI-driven features designed to elevate beat-making and music production.

The latest enhancements include improved audio separation capabilities, real-time performance recovery, and new sound packs tailored for hip-hop and electronic music producers.

The updated Stem Splitter feature now offers greater audio fidelity, enabling users to isolate not only vocals, drums, and bass but also guitar and piano tracks from a single audio file. This advancement allows producers to create custom remixes by removing or emphasizing specific elements within a track.

Additionally, the new submix feature facilitates exporting selected parts of audio, such as creating instrumental versions or isolating rhythm sections for further manipulation.

Addressing a common challenge in music production, Logic Pro introduces Flashback Capture, a feature that automatically saves performances even if the user forgets to press record. This tool captures both MIDI and audio inputs, allowing artists to retrieve spontaneous moments of creativity. When Cycle mode is enabled, each pass is organized into a take folder, streamlining the editing process.

To inspire creativity, Apple has added new sound packs to Logic Pro. “Dancefloor Rush” offers over 400 dynamic loops and punchy drum kits, accompanied by a custom Live Loops grid, catering to electronic music producers. Mac users also gain access to “Magnetic Imperfections,” which emulates the raw texture of analog tape.

Expanding its functionality, Logic Pro for iPad now includes the Learn MIDI feature, allowing users to assign knobs, faders, and buttons on MIDI devices to control various parameters within the software.

The latest Logic Pro update is available as a free upgrade for existing users. New users can purchase Logic Pro for Mac at $249.99 (CAD), requiring macOS Ventura 13.5 or later. Logic Pro for iPad is available for $6.99 (CAD) per month or $69 (CAD) per year, with a one-month free trial, and requires iPadOS 17.4 or later.
