How to Scan a QR Code with Your iPhone or iPad [VIDEO]

Apple’s latest support video shows how you can use the built-in camera on your iPhone or iPad to scan a Quick Response (QR) code for links to websites, apps, tickets, and more.

Once you point your iPhone or iPad camera to scan a QR code, the built-in scanner automatically detects and highlights it. Here’s how it works:

  1. Open Camera on your iPhone.
  2. Position iPhone so that the QR code appears inside the camera frame.
  3. Tap the notification that appears on the bottom of the screen to go to the relevant website or app.

On iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, you can use the Camera Control to open Code Scanner. You can also add the Code Scanner to your device’s Control Center. Here’s how:

  • Open Control Center.
  • Touch and hold the background of the screen, then tap Add a Control.
  • In the Control Center gallery, tap Scan Code, then tap anywhere on the screen to return to Control Center.

Watch the following video to see the process in action.
