Amex App Tops Credit Card Satisfaction Rankings in Canada Again

For the third year in a row, the American Express App has been named the top-rated credit card mobile app in Canada, according to the J.D. Power 2025 Canada Credit Card Mobile App Satisfaction Study.
The annual study looks at customer satisfaction in four areas: navigation, visual appeal, speed, and content. American Express earned the highest score—692—beating out Tangerine (669) and TD (640). Amex led in every category.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized again,” said Brett Mooney, President & CEO of American Express Canada. “It reflects how much we’ve invested in making the Amex App not just reliable, but essential to our cardmembers’ daily lives.”
Amex introduced several new features this year, including a redesigned rewards hub that makes it easier to redeem Membership Rewards points, simplified account verification within the app, and a refreshed payments section that’s more user-friendly.
Earlier today, CIBC earned the top spot in customer satisfaction for both mobile and online banking services in Canada. According to new rankings, CIBC leads in mobile app satisfaction with a score of 641, followed by TD at 631. In the online banking category, CIBC also came out on top with a score of 650, edging out BMO at 645 and RBC at 632.
The J.D. Power study is based on thousands of responses from Canadian credit card users.
