tvOS 26: Which Apple TVs Can Get the Update and All Features?

Apple today unveiled tvOS 26 with a new design, the latest software update for Apple TV, during its WWDC 2025 keynote.

The update brings a new Liquid Glass design, better AirPlay speaker support, smarter user profiles, and even a karaoke mode for Apple Music.

Here’s what you need to know.

Apple TVs That Support tvOS 26:

Even the Apple TV HD from 2015 is still supported—no models were dropped this year. That is good news.

tvOS 26 brings several new features to Apple TV, including a refreshed Liquid Glass interface available on newer Apple TV 4K models (2021 and later).

Apple Music now includes a karaoke mode called Apple Music Sing, but it only works on the 2022 Apple TV 4K or newer.

The update also improves user profiles, making it easier for family members to switch between accounts, and adds support for persistent AirPlay speaker settings so your preferred speakers stay connected. There’s also a new Game Center hub to make browsing and launching games more streamlined.

So if you want all the new features, you’ll need an Apple TV 4K that’s 2022 or newer.
