Which iPads Support iPadOS 26? Here’s the Complete List
Apple has revealed which iPads will be able to run iPadOS 26, its latest software update announced at WWDC 2025. The update brings a refreshed look, new multitasking features, and tools powered by Apple Intelligence—though not all iPads will support the AI features.
Here’s the full list of iPads that support iPadOS 26:
- iPad Pro (M4)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen and newer)
- iPad Pro 11-inch (1st gen and newer)
- iPad Air (3rd gen and newer)
- iPad Air with M2 chip
- iPad (8th gen and newer)
- iPad mini (5th gen and newer)
- iPad mini with A17 Pro chip
One older model is getting left behind: the 7th-gen iPad (iPad 7), which was supported up to iPadOS 18, is no longer on the list. Ouch.
To install iPadOS 26, your device will need at least an A12 chip. But if you want to use the new Apple Intelligence features like Live Translation or Genmoji, you’ll need one of the latest models with an M-series or A17 Pro chip.
Apple says the public beta for iPadOS 26 will arrive in July, with a full release expected this fall. Developers have access to iPadOS 26 and other beta software today.
