Apple Games App Is Here: Everything You Need to Know

At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled a brand-new app called Apple Games — a centralized hub where users can find all their games, connect with friends, and stay in the loop with live events and updates.

The announcement falls in line with rumours from last fall and this spring ahead of WWDC.

The idea is simple: instead of jumping between different apps or digging through your device to find what to play, Apple Games brings everything into one place. Whether you’re on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can now browse your entire game history, pick up where you left off, and discover what your friends are playing too. The app also works seamlessly with most game controllers, making it easier to jump right in.

A new “Play Together” tab lets users see their Game Center friends, compare achievements, and even challenge each other in score-based competitions. These challenges work across many games and turn solo play into shared fun, letting users invite friends into weekly score showdowns or survival tests.

The app also spotlights top games from the App Store and Apple Arcade. For Apple Arcade subscribers, curated game collections are featured front and centre, offering suggestions based on your gameplay and friend activity.

Another feature is real-time game updates. Each game page shows live events, updates, and activity from friends, so you won’t miss anything important, with these updates also showing on your Home Screen.

The Apple Games app is available to developers starting today (devs got access to betas yesterday). A public beta will roll out next month, and the full launch is planned for this fall alongside iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26.

Will the Apple Games app make you play more games on your iPhone, iPad and Mac? Or will it end up in your unused app junk folder?
