June Xbox Update Brings Copilot AI, Game Hubs, and More

Microsoft’s June 2025 Xbox update is rolling out now across Xbox consoles and PC, introducing two standout features: Copilot for Gaming in early beta and an aggregated gaming library in the Xbox PC app.

Xbox’s new AI-powered assistant, Copilot for Gaming, has entered beta testing via the Xbox mobile app. First announced in March, Copilot functions as an in-game concierge, able to offer personalized tips, remember where you left off, recommend new games, and even walk you through tricky levels.

Mobile users in select regions, including the U.S., Australia, and Japan, can ask Copilot natural‑language questions such as:

  • “How do I beat the boss in South of Midnight?”
  • “What’s my gamerscore, and how can I boost it?”

The feature is non-intrusive, staying off unless summoned, and leverages both Xbox play history and Bing search to tailor advice. Early testers praised it for speeding up game starts, offering coaching, and enhancing social connections within Xbox ecosystems. Broader rollout across PC, console, and ROG Xbox Ally handheld is expected later this year.

At the same time, Microsoft’s Xbox PC app now integrates games from Steam, Battle.net, Epic Games, and more, all within a single aggregated library. Xbox Insiders can already preview this feature, and it’s scheduled for wider release later in 2025, including on the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handheld.

Once installed, games from supported platform storefronts seamlessly populate in the “My Library” and “Most Recent” sections of the Xbox app, simplifying launch and management. Users can also hide specific storefronts via new settings.

The June update adds fresh console features, including:

  • Game Hubs: Automatically launching when games are selected—these hubs showcase achievements, friends playing the game, DLC offers, captures, and more. Users can disable this feature if preferred.
  • Enhanced Home Customization: Options to pin favorite tiles, hide system apps, and adjust the number of displayed tiles (4–9) on recently played lists .
  • Improved Cloud Save Management: New data sync insight with progress indicators, device names, timestamps, and error troubleshooting tips
