Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max could feature the largest battery ever in an iPhone, according to a new leak making waves online (via MacRumors).
The report comes from Weibo leaker “Instant Digital,” who has a mixed but increasingly credible track record for Apple-related scoops. In a recent post, the leaker revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will reportedly pack a massive 5,000mAh battery, marking a notable upgrade from previous models.

For comparison, Apple rates the iPhone 16 Pro Max for up to 33 hours of battery life — up from 29 hours on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. With an extra 300mAh reportedly coming to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, we could see 35 hours or more of battery life.
Efficiency improvements from Apple’s upcoming A19 Pro chip and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X80 modem are also expected to push battery performance even further, especially as Apple gears up to launch the rumoured iPhone 17 Air, which may have less room for a big battery due to its thin design.

While this leak should still be taken with a grain of salt, Instant Digital’s growing list of credible reports — including accurate calls on the yellow iPhone 14, the iPad Pro’s nano-texture display, and spatial video for the iPhone 15 Pro — makes it one worth keeping an eye on.
