Telus Launches Affordable TV Mini for Easy Streaming at Home

Telus recently introduced a compact streaming box last month called the TV Mini, offering customers a simple way to access their streaming subscriptions and Telus content in one place.

The Telus TV Mini is priced at $72 outright or can be financed at $2 per month over 36 months through a Telus Easy Payment plan.

Running on Android 14, the TV Mini supports both Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connections. It comes with 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and delivers video in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos support for audio.

The device comes preloaded with apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video, and also supports Telus Stream+ bundles, which the company says can save users up to 15% per month. TV Mini users also get access to more than 40 free featured channels, as well as Telus Films & Series.

The included remote is voice-enabled with Google Assistant and features backlit buttons. Users can perform a universal search across all their streaming apps to quickly find content. The TV Mini is designed for easy self-installation and connects via HDMI. Telus offers free shipping anywhere in Canada, along with a 30-day return policy.

Even if users cancel Telus Stream+, the device remains functional and can still be used to access other streaming apps, which can be managed through the Google Play Store.

Telus is marketing the TV Mini as an all-in-one hub for customers who want to streamline their streaming setup.

It won't as corpos want people to pay for everything, maybe if the CRTC did what they were supposed the big 3 would be forced to pay us instead as the millions they've taken over these price hikes I mean price gouging need to be paid back

Basically Telus saw Roku and thought they need one of their own, hell it looks like a Chrome cast and it's clear the Indians of Telus just stole the idea

Given that bell requires only an app download with no dongle at all, this approach by Telus is the opposite of streamlining.

It's just a Android TV dongle, more of a Chromecast/Google Streamer competitor.

It makes no mention of being able to cast to it though

These Android boxes (and online companion apps) are problematic. ipTV provider Rally also uses them, and the issue is that you must have a Google account for functionality – and we all know how Google deals with use of their products.
