Google Launches Deep Think AI Model for $340/Month in Canada

Google 2 5 deep think.

Google has rolled out its new “Deep Think” AI feature inside the Gemini app, but only for those subscribed to its top-tier AI Ultra plan—which costs around $339.99 a month in Canada.

Deep Think is designed to take more time thinking through complex problems using a technique Google calls “parallel thinking.” Basically, it brainstorms multiple ideas at once, refines them, and then picks the best answer. This approach helps it solve tough problems in math, science, coding, and even design.

Google first announced Deep Think at Google I/O back in May as a proof-of-concept for high-level math and coding.

A slower, research-grade version of Deep Think recently achieved gold-medal performance at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The version launching today is more practical for daily use and still reaches “Bronze-level” math competition benchmarks internally, according to Google.

Google is also giving a few mathematicians access to the full IMO-winning version to test out how it performs in academic research. Check out the video below:

Google says Deep Think can help users code more efficiently, solve difficult math problems, and come up with creative solutions by using more time to reason and revise. It’s also scored highly on AI benchmarks for reasoning and code, including LiveCodeBench V6 and Humanity’s Last Exam, beating Grok 4 and OpenAI’s o3:

To try it out, users need to toggle “Deep Think” inside the Gemini app when using the 2.5 Pro model. It comes with a limited number of daily prompts and uses tools like code execution and Google Search to boost performance.

While Google says the new AI is safer and more objective than past models, it’s also more likely to refuse harmless prompts. The company says it’s working on balancing safety and usefulness as it tests the model with developers and researchers in the weeks ahead.

Gemini is becoming more frustrating and dumber by the day for "everyday" tasks. I even got it to admit it "lied". Lol.
