Nintendo Switch Price Increases in Effect in Canada, Games Rise to $84

Nintendo Canada has increased the prices of Nintendo Switch products. The new pricing model is in effect across Nintendo Switch (OLED Model), the original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, accessories and Nintendo Switch Online.
The company announced the price increases ahead of time. Nintendo decided to increase prices in Canada “based on market conditions.” However, Nintendo Canada did not reveal the new prices until they took effect. This left customers with only a month or so to make their last-minute purchases before prices rose across hardware and software.
Now, we understand the new prices. Going through the official Nintendo website, we can see the following prices:
- Joy-Cons – $124 (from $99)
- Nintendo Switch – $419 (from $399)
- Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) – $489 (from $449)
- Nintendo Switch Lite – $279 (from $259)
- Nintendo Switch Online – $29/year (from $25)
- Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack – $69/year (from $64)
- Switch Pro Controller – $99 (from $89)
- Super Mario Bros Wonder – $84 (from $79)
- Super Mario Odyssey – $84 (from $79)
- Switch Sports – $54 (from $49)
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – $84 (from $79)
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – $99 (from $89)
Taking a look at the new pricing schemes, it appears as though most software has been hit with a $5 price bump (with the exception of Tears of the Kingdom). Increases across hardware seem to vary on Nintendo Switch models, with the OLED Model still being the more expensive kit in the original Nintendo Switch family.
It’s worth pointing out that no Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive hardware or software has been subject to a price increase. This extends to the console itself, the Mario Kart World bundle, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller, or games like Donkey Kong Bananza.

Quick correction: joy con have been raised to $109.99; the joy con 2 are 124.99, which is unchanged from launch.
