xAI’s Grok Imagine Instantly Turns Any Picture Into a Video—It’s Wild

Elon Musk’s xAI has created a new AI tool called Grok Imagine in early beta, which can turn a single image into a full video—complete with motion and sound—in under 30 seconds.

The feature is currently in beta and available through X and the Grok app. Musk teased the launch by saying: “grok imagine: Have fun bringing art & sculpture to life just using your phone with @Grok”

“Grok Imagine is now making *videos* in 1/2 to 1/4 the time that major competitors take to make a single image!”, emphasized Musk.

Some samples seen online have been impressive.  “I drew this with charcoal pencil yesterday. Grok Imagine brought her to life today. Wow, insane,” said one user:

Musk called Imagine “AI Vine!”, referencing the short-form video app that Twitter shut down years ago. He also revealed:
“We recently found the Vine video archive (thought it had been deleted) and are working on restoring user access, so you can post them if you want.”

The tool is still in early beta, but Musk says big improvements are coming: “A radical step-change in capability will come when we finish training our heavy video model on our 110k GB200s in a few months.”

Musk also confirmed usage caps for now: “Grok video rendering daily limits are being set to 50, 100 and 500 for Premium, Premium+ and Heavy respectively.”

To try Grok Imagine, update the Grok or X app, and check the Imagine tab to join the waitlist. Super Grok subscribers get early access.

Musk summed it up best: “Made in 30 secs with @Grok Imagine.”

There’s some hilarious memes turned into real life with Grok Imagine. Check one example out below:

Now, Imagine does have a ‘Spicy Mode’ which lets you create NSFW content, which some had issue with as you can imagine. Here’s one video shared yesterday by Musk which shows what Imagine can do:

Lovely. More AI generated nonsense.
Not sure why the word wild is in the title. I guess iPhone in Canada really likes sucking up to Musk. Youtube already has enough of this AI garbage, at least to anyone with a functioning brain. Seems there are less and less of them lately based on this Article
