Google Takes Shot at Apple in New Pixel 10 Teaser

Google has published another Pixel 10 teaser video, this time taking aim at Apple and its delayed Apple Intelligence features.

In the latest Pixel 10 ad, Google makes an off-handed statement regarding Apple Intelligence.  An off-screen narrator starts the video by saying, “If you bought a new phone because of a feature that’s coming soon, but it’s been coming soon for a full year, you could change your definition of soon.”

The short 30-second ad continues to proclaim that you could “just change your phone,” ending with another look at the upcoming Pixel 10.

Last year, when Apple launched the iPhone 16, the company promised a slew of new AI-powered refinements for Siri. Via the Apple Intelligence system, a new version of Siri is in development, made with an emphasis on conversational and contextual improvements. However, nearly a year later, Apple still has not delivered on the new version of Siri.

Back in June, it was first reported that Apple is now planning to deliver its Siri upgrade by spring 2026. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated that the new Apple Intelligence-powered features will be introduced by iOS 26.4, which is expected by March.

It’s been claimed that the early reveal of the AI-powered Siri has created a divide within the company. It’s believed that the engineering and marketing teams are at odds about showing off the features prior to them being ready. The engineering team is supposedly pointing fingers at the marketing team, claiming that features that weren’t ready were shown. However, Apple’s marketing teams are reported to be claiming they were given timelines that weren’t accurate.

Since the on-going delays, Apple has been quiet about Apple Intelligence more and more. For instance, the new AI Siri wasn’t even discussed during the latest WWDC.

All of this is to say that Google took a prime opportunity to jab Apple when they were vulnerable. The latest Pixel 10 tease comes a couple of weeks ahead of the Made by Google event on August 20th, where the latest series of devices is believed to be revealed.
