New on Xbox Game Pass: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Rain World, and More

A new catalogue of games is arriving on Xbox Game Pass this month. Starting now, subscribers can indulge in a handful of additional games and experiences on Microsoft’s game service. August’s additions include notable standouts like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Rain World, and 9 Kings in Game Preview.

Announced via the Xbox Wirethe month starts with the addition of Rain World, with other games entering the fold in a trickle throughout the next couple of weeks. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest wave of Xbox Game Pass games.

Rain World (Cloud, Console, and PC)

In this survival game, you’ll play as a nomadic slugcat, traversing through the ruins of an industrialized ancient civilization. Developed by Videocult, Rain World sees players take up arms with a spear and debris as weapons to combat predators while scavaging for food.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Xbox Series X|S) – August 6

In this sci-fi RPG, you’ll play as an escaped android with a price on your head. With no memory, you’ll have to form a crew, get a ship, and take on contracts across the stars. This game serves as a sequel to the 2022 Citizen Sleeper, developed by Jump Over the Age.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Xbox Series X|S) – August 6

Take to the slopes and master the mountain terrain in Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders. Supporting up to 8 players via cross-platform multiplayer, players can work down the slopes as a group. Players can either work meticulously to reach the next checkpoint or barrel down to the base of the mountain in an adrenaline-fueled race.

MechWarrior 5: Clans (Xbox Series X|S) – August 6

Players will step into the role of a new pilot on Smoke Jaguar in the Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere. In MechWarrior 5: Clans, players lead a squad across a diverse series of planets. Armed with customizable BattleMechs, the game offers the chance to use tactics and strategies to win battles.

Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Xbox Series X|S) – August 6

This game is best described as a third-person shooter and trap defence game. Players will evolve as an orc-slaying War Mage with rogue-lite choices throughout the gameplay. Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap also supports up to four-player multiplayer.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 7

Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the 13th main entry in the long-running franchise. Continuing the story of Basim, originally introduced in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, players will explore the streets of ninth-century Baghdad. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is notably considered a return to form by many, including stealth-based mechanics.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 12

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a third-person cooperative shooter, where fireteams will drop into levels to fight an oncoming Xenomorph threat. The game returns to Xbox Game Pass the day Alien: Earth lands on FX and Disney+ in Canada.

9 Kings (Game Preview) (PC) – August 14

In Game Preview, 9 Kings is a roguelike kingdom builder, where players fight massive battles against rival kings. Players grow their empire and fight massive battles, and are encouraged to break the game with possible builds.
