Fizz Mobile Not Receiving Calls for Some Users, But Now Fixed
Some Fizz Mobile customers in B.C. and Alberta were unable to receive calls for two days dating back to Friday, August 14, with service only working between Fizz-to-Fizz numbers. Callers instead heard a message saying, “due to telephone company facility trouble your call cannot be completed at this time.”
One customer, TJ, told iPhone in Canada the outage caused them to miss an important call: “People on Fizz mobile have not been able to receive calls for two days. The only calls that go through are ones from Fizz customers. Fizz is very silent on the issue.”
Frustrated, TJ said they eventually switched carriers: “It wasn’t working two hours ago, so I ported out to Koodo. Two days it was out and I missed an extremely important call. Absolutely ridiculous.”
On late Saturday (August 16), a Fizz spokesperson told iPhone in Canada the problem has been fixed, saying “this was an isolated situation,” adding the service has been fully restored for these customers.
Fizz is owned by Videotron, which is a subsidiary of Quebecor in Quebec.
