Rogers appears to be in the giving mood again, offering select customers free wireless data, according to iPhone in Canada readers.
The telecom is offering 40GB of free monthly data as part of a limited-time promotion, sent to select customers via text message last week (check your spam texts). The “exclusive” offer says you need to sign into your account by September 12, 2025 to claim the free data.
How to do this? Log into Rogers.com, head to ‘Overview’ and click ‘Exclusive Offer’ and then ‘Get This Offer’ in the pop up window that appears.
The offer says it is exclusive to their “most valued customers” and no plan change is required. Once activated it will be applied immediately.
Of course, this free data gift now isn’t just because Rogers is feeling like giving out charity. It’s a way to pad up a customer’s wireless plan so when Black Friday deals hit in the fall, customers will think twice about leaving unless they are seeing a far better plan elsewhere.
Recently, we’ve seen Rogers axe its online community forums, taking away one venue for customers to get support, while it also increased its activation fee to $80.

I was offered the "free" 40 GB in May only to get charged an extra $5 per month, 2 months later. Rather than call in and have Robbers @$&#& up my account, I took it as a lesson learned. There's no such thing as free anything with Robbers.
