How to Pre-Order iPhone 17 and iPhone Air in Canada

If you want to make sure you snag an iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air on launch day, here’s how to get set up ahead of Friday’s pre-orders that kick off at 5am PT/8am ET.
1. Use the Apple Store app
Head to apple.ca or open the Apple Store app on your iPhone. The app usually updates first on launch morning, so it’s the fastest way to check out. On the morning of check out, use your iPhone’s cellular connection in case your Wi-Fi craps out on you.
2. Pick your iPhone
- Choose your model (iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Air).
- Select colour and storage size.
- Decide if you’re trading in your old iPhone or adding AppleCare+. When done, tap Save for Later.

3. Get “Pre-Order Ready”
Tap Get Ready for Pre-Order. Apple will guide you through:
- Browsing accessories.
- Choosing your payment method.
- Reviewing your order details.
4. Pre-Order Day Details
Apple says: “Starting at 5:00 a.m. PT on Sept. 12, visit apple.ca and go to your bag or account to complete your order.” After all the pre-order work you’ve done, you just need to have to your saved bag and then click “buy” (your wallet will hate you again this time of the year).
For the first time, Apple has revealed you can prep until 9:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, September 11. We’ve long known this, but we’ve never seen Apple publicize this. After that time, the Apple Store goes offline until pre-orders open the next morning. This gives you extra time to lock in your choices and breeze through checkout.
5. Other Options Apple Offers
Apple also highlights some ways to get personal help before launch day:
- Shop one-on-one online with a Specialist.
- Visit an Apple Store for a session with a Specialist to browse, shop, and demo products.
- Bring in the QR code Apple provides so you can continue your saved order in-store.
Carrier pre-orders from Rogers/Fido, Telus/Koodo, Bell/Virgin Plus and Freedom Mobile are also set to kick off this Friday morning, after Apple’s launch.
Once you’ve secured your pre-order, go back to bed on the west coast or start making a cup of coffee, asking yourself why you’re upgrading to an iPhone you don’t really need.
So, what’s it going to be this Friday? iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air–or nothing at all? Let us know in the comments below.
