Rogers Makes Citytv+ a Standalone Service, Launches Sportsnet+ Bundle

Rogers citytv plus.

Rogers says its Citytv+ streaming service is now available directly to Canadians across all major platforms, including Apple and Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, and online at citytvplus.ca.

The service includes live channels and on-demand programming from networks such as Citytv, Bravo, Discovery, Food Network, FX, FXX, and HGTV. Shows range from Law & Order and Chicago Fire to The Real Housewives and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

“Rogers Sports & Media is home to the most coveted entertainment and sports media brands and programming in Canada, and we’re excited to make our vast collection of top content available to even more Canadians to enjoy when and where they want,” said Colette Watson, president of Rogers Sports & Media, in a statement.

As part of the rollout, Rogers is also launching a bundle subscription with Citytv+ and Sportsnet+. The package costs $31.99 per month and combines entertainment content with live sports, including NHL games, Blue Jays baseball, Raptors basketball, UFC, and more.

A standalone Citytv+ subscription costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year, with a seven-day free trial available. Who’s going to be subscribing to this? At this point, we’re starting to move backwards as non-stop streaming subscriptions are topping the cost of cable TV.
