Adobe Premiere for iPhone Launches With Pro-Quality Video Editing Tools

For the first time, Adobe has rolled out a mobile version of its flagship Premiere video editing app, bringing high-end editing tools to iPhone users everywhere.

Adobe Premiere for iPhone.

With this launch, Adobe aims to let users edit with precision from their phones. The mobile app supports a multi-track timeline, frame-accurate trimming, animated captions, smooth motion effects, and even instant background removal.

One of the standout promises is speed. Adobe built the app natively for iOS so that edits feel snappy and responsive. The design is intended to be lean and distraction-free: no watermarks, no clutter. For creators working across devices, the app allows seamless handoffs to Premiere Pro on desktop, letting users polish complex sequences later.

Another differentiator is integration with Adobe Firefly. Users can generate custom stickers, images, backgrounds, and more within the app using generative AI. These assets are commercially safe and abide by Adobe’s usage guidelines. Adobe also bundles a rich library of free assets, including music, fonts, images, to help users level up their videos without needing external tools.

This release marks a shift in Adobe’s mobile strategy. Rather than putting a slimmed-down version of Premiere on phones, Adobe created a version tailored to mobile workflows. In doing so, they aim to empower creators to shoot, edit, and post from anywhere.

The app is free to download from the App Store and includes full editing functionality. However, some generative AI features and extra cloud storage will require credits or upgrades beyond the free tier.

Currently, the Android version of Premiere is under development, with no specific release date announced.
