Meta Ray-Ban Display Nearly ‘Sold Out’ in US Stores 48 Hours After Launch

It’s been 48 hours since Meta Ray-Ban Display launched in the US. As the new pair of smartglasses enters its first market, Meta claims that the wearables have sold out in “nearly every store” that has been stocked.

In a recent blog post, the company touts that demand for Meta Ray-Ban Display “is off the charts.” However, it is also complicating the purchasing experience throughout this first launch. Within the US market, in-store demos and required appointments are booked out through November.

As of the launch, the only way to purchase a pair of Meta Ray-Ban Display is by going into a retail location for a fitting and a demo. Meta explains that the reason behind this decision is that both the Meta Ray-Ban Display and Meta Neural Band are “two pieces of tech that almost nobody has ever experienced before.” So, customers are required to book an in-person appointment for a fitting and a walkthrough of the product.

During the demo, the customer experiences the Meta Ray-Ban Display and Meta Neural Band to ensure both are comfortable. For the smartglasses, demoists ensure the monocular display is comfortable to use and the glasses are the correct size and fit. For the Meta Neural Band, customers must make sure the built-in sensors work properly and can be picked up by muscle signals in the wrist to complete gesture-based commands. The Meta Neural Band comes in three sizes, so a fitting is conducted.

Eager customers are encouraged to book a demo and use the Demo Scheduler to find a nearby demo or to be notified once they become available.

Of course, with all of this said, Meta Ray-Ban Display is only available in the US for the time being. The smartglasses were unveiled during the recent Meta Connect event. The next-gen pair of Meta Ray-Bans includes an integrated 600x600p full-colour display within the frames so users can check messages, translations, photos, and map details. The inclusion of the Neural Band introduces hand gestures to control the classes without needing to tap the frames.

In the US, the Meta Ray-Ban Display costs $799 (roughly $1,100 CAD) and come in Sand or Black colourways. Users can also add their prescription lenses to the glasses. Plus, in collaboration with Transitions, users can add transition lenses, adjusting to lighting conditions quickly and efficiently.

Although the Meta Ray-Ban Display aren’t available in Canada currently, an early 2026 launch is expected alongside France, Italy and the UK.
