Google’s ‘Try On’ Feature Arrives in Canada—See How Clothes Look on You Instantly

Google is bringing its virtual fitting room to Canadian shoppers. The company’s AI-powered “Try On” tool, first launched in the U.S. in May, is now available across Google Search, Google Shopping, and Google Images in Canada—giving users a way to see how clothes might actually look on them before clicking “buy.”

The feature uses Google’s custom image generation model for fashion, trained to understand how different fabrics behave on real bodies—including how they fold, stretch, and drape across various shapes and poses. Unlike traditional online product photos, the tool shows a more realistic preview by adapting the clothing to your own image.

To try it, search for supported clothing types—shirts, pants, dresses, and skirts—and look for the “Try it on” icon in the product listing. After uploading a full-length photo, Google’s AI processes the image and shows what the outfit might look like on you in seconds. Users can also experiment with different sizes, colours, and styles, save favourite looks, and even share previews with friends before making a purchase decision, explained Google’s Danielle Buckley, Director of Product, Consumer Shopping, on Wednesday.

When you’re ready to buy, simply tap ‘Shop’ to be redirected to the retailer’s website. The tool supports millions of apparel listings across Google’s Shopping Graph, though shoes, swimwear, lingerie, and accessories aren’t supported yet.

Google says the feature aims to recreate the confidence of an in-store fitting room experience for online shoppers—using AI to help reduce uncertainty about fit and style. The company also emphasizes that uploaded photos are processed securely and can be deleted at any time.

The AI Try On feature is rolling out now in Canada on both mobile and desktop, just in time for fall shopping season, giving users a new way to check out outfits on themselves before they order. Now, you really have no reason to ever leave the house ever again.
