Rogers, Bell, and Telus Just Raised Prices in Time for Holiday Travel
One week ago we shared pricing from Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom, comparing prices for the start of October.
Well, fast forward seven days and we’re already seeing price increases across the board from the ‘Big 3’.
Rogers has hiked prices $5-10, depending on plan, which was matched exactly by Bell. As for Telus, it increased the price of its global plan, like its rivals, but only up $5 to $100 instead of $105. That will hit any traveller seeking a global plan ahead of winter holidays. Telus also increased its 80GB 5GB plan by $15, up from $50 to $65 per month.
Check out the prices for Rogers, Telus and Bell as of today, below (for new bring your own device customers that set up pre-authorized payments):
Rogers ($5-10 price increases)
- $75/100GB (was $70)
- $85/175GB Canada-US (was $80)
- $105/250GB Global (64 destinations; was $95)
Previous pricing ended on October 6 according to Rogers.
Telus ($5-15 price increases)
- $70/100GB (unlimited calls to 27 destinations)
- $80/175GB Canada-US
- $100/250GB Global (68 destinations; was $95)
- 5G: $60/60GB
- 5G: $65/80GB (was $50)
Bell ($5-10 price increases)
- $75/100GB (was $70)
- $85/175GB Canada-US (was $80)
- $105/250GB Global (65 destinations; was $95)
What about Freedom Mobile? Its recent promos have ended as well on October 6. Here’s where things stand:
- $29/5GB Canada-US-Mexico + 1GB Roam Beyond
- $34/10GB Canada-US-Mexico + 1GB Roam Beyond
- $39/60GB Canada-US-Mexico + 5GB Roam Beyond
- $49/80GB (was 100GB) Canada-US-Mexico + 15GB Roam Beyond (ends October 6)
- $59/100GB (was 150GB) Canada-US-Mexico + 25GB Roam Beyond (ends October 6)
- $69/200GB Canada-US-Mexico + 30GB Roam Beyond
- $79/250GB Canada-US-Mexico + 35GB Roam Beyond
As you can see, the $49 and $59 plans have reduced data, down to 80GB and 100GB respectively, from 100GB and 150GB.
As we go deeper into fall and eventually Black Friday in November, expect prices to fluctuate even more.
