Public Mobile Pulls Vouchers from Major Stores; Canada Post Delays Orders
Telus-owned Public Mobile has confirmed that several major retail chains across Canada have stopped selling its payment vouchers.
Customers can no longer buy Public Mobile vouchers at 7-Eleven, Couche-Tard (Mac’s), Jean Coutu, London Drugs, Metro, Petro-Canada, Proxim, Shell, Walmart, or Esso.
The company says it has updated its online Payment Voucher page to show which retailers still carry vouchers, telling customers to check before heading to a store. Public Mobile vouchers are still available at Canadian Tire Gas Corner Store, Food land, Hasty Market, Guardian, IGA, Loblaws, No Frills, MacEwen, PharmaChoice, Provigo, Rabba, Real Canadian Superstore, Fine Foods, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys, Sprint Dépanneur, Remedy’sRx, Super Express, Sagamie, Supermarket Mart, Suniprix, Value Drug Mart, and Valu-mart.
As an alternative, Public Mobile is promoting Auto Top-Up, which automatically renews plans using a credit or debit card through the Public Mobile app or website.
Separately, Public Mobile warned the Canada Post’s strike, which began September 25, are affecting deliveries to PO boxes and rural addresses. SIM card Orders placed before that date should still arrive by courier, but anyone waiting more than 15 days should contact support.
Customers needing a Public Mobile SIM card sooner can order one from Amazon.ca or pick one up at participating retailers.
