CBSA Kiosks Down Again, Causing Delays at Major Canadian Airports

Travellers are facing long lines at Canadian airports after a new outage hit the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Primary Inspection Kiosks.
The agency says the disruption is linked to scheduled maintenance work and is affecting multiple airports across the country. “We are working with partners on fixing the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” CBSA said in a statement at 8:13am PT today.
Toronto Pearson Airport confirmed that both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are impacted, warning passengers to expect longer-than-usual wait times at customs.
CBSA Primary Inspection Kiosks let travellers scan their passports, take a photo, and answer customs questions before seeing an officer. They’re designed to speed up entry into Canada and reduce wait times at border checkpoints.
This marks the second outage in two weeks. On October 2, a similar technical problem caused widespread delays nationwide as border officers had to manually process travellers.
While today’s outage is tied to planned maintenance, the CBSA has not given a timeline for when the kiosks will be back online.
