Nintendo Targets to Manufacture 25 Million Switch 2 Units by March 2026

Nintendo is reportedly targeting to manufacture 25 million units of Nintendo Switch 2 within the next six months. The company hopes to meet its target by March 2026, closing out its fiscal year.

In a report from Bloomberg, it was claimed that Nintendo is looking to accelerate manufacturing of the Nintendo Switch 2 in the next few months. According to its sources, “asking its manufacturing partners to ramp up output” in order to help the company meet its target expectation. Nintendo expects production to ramp up in order to meet the demand for its new console over the holidays and into 2026.

Nintendo’s production of its Nintendo Switch 2 began in late 2024. Since that time, it’s been adequately meeting demand within Canada and the US.

Market analysts have previously projected Nintendo may hit 17.6 million units in sales for the fiscal year ending March 2026. However, new estimates now suggest Nintendo is on track to sell around 20 million units by that time. Remaining stock will then roll into the new fiscal year, and its expected demand is expected to continue well beyond that time.

Nintendo Switch 2 launched in North America on June 5th and skyrocketed in popularity. In the first seven weeks on the market, the company reached 5.82 million units sold. At the time, the company had a more modest target of selling 15 million units by March 2026.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has become the fastest-selling console in history. The forward momentum of the console will largely be supported by software. With increased manufacturing, Nintendo is poised to have a successful financial year.
