How to Watch Samsung’s Galaxy XR Event Live and What to Expect

Samsung is hosting another Galaxy Event today, this time dedicated to its upcoming Galaxy XR headset. Once dubbed ‘Project Moohan’, Galaxy XR is the first Android headset from the company.

The Galaxy XR headset was first revealed in 2024, when Samsung announced its partnership with Google. Earlier, it was expected that the Galaxy XR would have been revealed in September, prior to internal marketing adjustments. Now, it appears as though Samsung is finally prepared to launch its headset officially.

Samsung has posted a placeholder video for its upcoming live stream. The thumbnail shows the horizon of what first looks to be a planet, but is actually the lens of the Galaxy XR. Unfortunately, the video’s description doesn’t offer much insight beyond “Join us at Samsung Galaxy Event on October 21, 2025” and some viewing recommendations.

The Galaxy XR headset is being built on the new Android XR platform, developed by Google and Qualcomm. The headset is said to feature “state-of-the-art displays” with passthrough capabilities and natural multi-modal input. This will allow support for spatial apps like Google Maps, YouTube, and Gemini.

The headset is reported to feature micro OLED displays and sport a resolution of 3,800ppi. It’s also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ 2nd generation and feature 16GB of RAM.

With Samsung following in the footsteps of Apple and Meta with the Vision Pro and Quest headsets, it’s expected that the Galaxy XR will be a bit of a niche device. Earlier, it was reported that the headset may cost around 2 million won (roughly $1,990 CAD). Separate prescription lenses will also be made available for an undetermined cost.

The Galaxy XR event kicks off at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT. Currently, there’s no word on the duration of the event or if any additional announcements will be made as part of the live stream. The event can be viewed on Samsung’s official YouTube channel or on Samsung Newsroom.
