Rogers Reveals 83,000 Fans Turned Out for Blue Jays Watch Parties

This week, while the Toronto Blue Jays face the Los Angeles Dodgers, Rogers held a number of watch parties at the Rogers Center. While the local team was away at Dodger Stadium during Game Three, Four, and Five, fans were able to attend the Rogers Watch Parties to watch on the jumbotron.

Seeing as though the Toronto Blue Jays’ field was not being used during these World Series away games, Rogers opened up its doors for fans, with tickets going to charity. According to Rogers, 85,331 total fans attended, purchasing $15 tickets to attend. Fans were able to sit in the seats and watch the Sportsnet broadcasts on the ballpark’s videoboard over the three nights. All net proceeds went to Jays Care Foundation.

From October 27th through to October 29th, 115,081 bags of popcorn were given away by Rogers and the Rogers Center staff. The company has also revealed that 1,000 free tickets were given to customers through Rogers Beyond the Seat, the company’s program that offers a chance for Rogers customers to win tickets to concerts and sporting events.

Game Three of the World Series is now the second-longest World Series game in the Baseball Reference database. Nearly beating the record for Game Three between the Dodgers and Red Sox in 2018, the recent game lasted six hours and 39 minutes. According to Rogers, 5,000 estimated fans stuck around through all 18 innings until the game ended at around 2:51 AM ET.

Tonight, the Toronto Blue Jays are playing once again at Rogers Center for Game Six. If the team manages to snag a win, the team will win the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. If not, it’ll all come to a head on Saturday, November 1st, for Game Seven.
