GTA 6 Delayed Again — Rockstar Just Broke Millions of Hearts
Rockstar Games has pushed back the release of Grand Theft Auto VI to November 19, 2026, marking another delay for one of the most anticipated games in history.
In a message posted today on X, Rockstar said, “Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
The studio thanked fans for their patience, adding, “We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”
Time to insert your favourite GTA 6 memes about what will happen first before the game even launches.
Originally revealed in December 2023, GTA VI was first expected to launch in 2025. The game will be set in the fictional state of Leonida—inspired by Florida—and feature Vice City, a fan-favourite location first seen in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Prior to today’s announcement of the delay, GTA VI was set to release on November 26 this year for consoles, then for PC in 2026. Next year’s release falls just ahead of Black Friday, so expect sales to be gangbusters.

Heheh, saw that coming! PC release will probably be 2028, by then we'll have GeForce RTX 6080 and 6080ti's anyway.
