Bell’s Lucky Mobile and Rogers’ Chatr have kicked off a full-on early Black Friday battle, each trying to outdo the other with bigger data buckets at the lowest possible prices. The two budget carriers often shadow each other, but this year’s Black Friday updates show Lucky pushing harder while Chatr trims and reshapes its lineup.
Chatr quietly removed its $34/10GB plan from last week’s offering and scaled back its $39 plan. That plan briefly peaked at 70GB thanks to a limited promo, but it now sits at 60GB split between base data and Auto-pay bonuses. The rest of Chatr’s monthly lineup remains the same, along with two long-running annual plans.

Lucky Mobile, meanwhile, has updated its Black Friday lineup designed to beat those totals at the same or similar price points. Lucky kept the $34/10GB plan that Chatr removed and continues to offer the full 70GB version of the $39 plan until December 1—matching Chatr’s old promo and pushing it even further by stacking Auto-Top-Up and Black Friday bonuses.

So we have Lucky Mobile matching Chatr’s $29/25GB plan that debuted the other day. Overall, these plans aren’t exactly hot deals since talk, text and data are limited to Canada. These prepaid brands are targeting newcomers for the most part, since you can sign up without a credit check like a typical postpaid plan.
But when we take a look at Telus prepaid brand Public Mobile, their Black Friday offers are way better than Chatr and Lucky:
All of these plans include talk, text and data in Canada, US and Mexico, with 5G data.
