Freedom Mobile’s $29 Black Friday ‘Winback’ Deal Just Set the Bar

Freedom Mobile is quietly reaching out to former customers with a Black Friday “winback” offer that undercuts most of the deals we’ve seen so far. ‘Winback’ plans are sweetheart deals that aim to lure back former customers. Usually they are sent by email, text or phone.

The carrier is discounting its $39 Canada-U.S.-Mexico plan down to $29 per month when the digital billing discount is applied, making it one of the cheapest cross-border plans on the market right now.

The offer gives customers 60GB of full-speed data that can be used across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, which is a good deal at $29. The plan also includes a one-time 10GB Roam Beyond data boost, which prepaid brands and flanker brands don’t offer.

Since this is a bring-your-own-device deal, Freedom waives the standard $45 connection fee, and those who also subscribe to Freedom Home Internet can save an extra $4 each month on top of the winback pricing.

Freedom is leaning on its Price Freeze Promise as well, saying the base cost of the plan won’t increase as long as customers stay on it, according to the offer being sent out and shared on RFD.

When you combine the roaming coverage, the decent data bucket, the waived fees, and the lower monthly rate, this winback is easily one of the most aggressive Black Friday mobile deals available. The only one we can see stepping up is Telus’ Public Mobile. We’ll find out in a few days, folks.

Does freedom normally have no activation fee if you open a new line without a new phone? Or normally that would be $45 but they are only waiving it for this deal?

This should be a regular deal. Not this artificial price of $39 and above where u start getting worthwhile plans.
