Bell Internet Customer Says Their Bill Keeps Rising and They’re Not Happy

A Bell internet customer has sparked a heated discussion on Reddit after claiming their monthly bill has jumped five times in the past year. The customer claims the increases happened throughout 2025 even though their service hasn’t changed.

According to their post, the customer’s 3 Gbps fibre plan went from $105 plus tax in January of this year to $132 plus tax on the latest December 2025 bill. The bill increases started in January, then in May, June, July and now December. They also clarified that the plan wasn’t a promotional offer ending, noting they’ve had the same service for some time.

Other Reddit users chimed in with similar frustrations, sharing their own price hikes and switching experiences. Several pointed out that Bell’s increases often coincide with expiring discounts or adjustments across different services like TV or mobility. But many agreed that back to back hikes are becoming more common.

A few commenters said they’ve left Bell entirely, moving to alternatives such as Eastlink, Ebox, Distributel or Primus, though availability depends heavily on the region. Others said they cycle between providers every couple of years to reset as “new customers” and avoid loyalty pricing.

Some users reported better rates through door to door reps, while others argued that switching is the only realistic way to keep prices down. One user claimed they now pay $50 a month for Bell Fibe after negotiating, while another said their bill nearly doubled once their contract ended.

The original poster says they rely on Bell’s 3 Gbps upload speeds for video work, which limits their options. They expressed frustration that the repeated hikes feel unavoidable, saying they hope Bell sees the complaints.

Bell periodically increases prices. Back in October, Bell MTS told customers monthly bills would be increasing in November for home phone, internet and Fibe TV.

Have you seen similar increases on your Bell internet bill this year?

Bell has always been that way. I used to subscribe to their satellite tv with only a basic set of channels, unchanged for 13 years. I believe I started at about $35/month & they would add $3.00/year to each months bill where I ended up with paying $75/month for nothing new or extra. So I dumped them. That’s not business, that’s extortion.

It’s always a game with these companies! my contract ended last month and I negotiated a new price and now I’m saving $30 a month! but I don’t know why you have to go through the hoops to do this! 🤷‍♂️

Let me fix it for you, the correct English grammar woke version:

The original poster says it relies on Bell’s 3 Gbps upload speeds for video work, which limits their options. It expressed frustration that the repeated hikes feel unavoidable, saying it hopes Bell sees the complaints.

Instead of complaining and not getting anywhere. Switch to another provider and then switch back later at the new customer rate. Most cities have at least 2 main providers for internet.
