How to Watch The Game Awards 2025 and What to Expect

The Game Awards, the video game industry’s annual award show, is being held on Thursday, December 11th. The award show is once again being held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and will be live-streamed for global audiences.
As per tradition, The Game Awards is being hosted by organizer Geoff Keighley. The annual celebration, once again, will honour this year’s biggest games and developers, crafting some of the most memorable experiences of the year. Throughout the night, many awards will be given across numerous categories. It wouldn’t be The Game Awards without many new game announcements and trailers.
Following last year’s 10th anniversary of The Game Awards, this year’s ceremony will follow a similar format, with awards being peppered throughout with game trailers shown throughout the event. A 30-minute pre-show for the live stream begins at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT. Then, the main event kicks off and can be viewed on the official pages across Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, X (Twitter), or YouTube. This year also marks the first time The Game Awards will be live-streamed on Prime Video after a partnership with Amazon was inked.
This past month The Game Awards revealed the full list of nominees and categories that are a part of the award ceremony. Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 set records for The Game Awards, as it has been nominated for 12 total categories, including Game of the Year. Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment has led as the most-nominated publisher with 19 nominations, thanks to games like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei.
This year, The Game Awards will reveal games to be released throughout 2026 and beyond. In some brief teases, it’s been suggested that Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft may make an appearance in some fashion. Wildflower Interactive, the new studio formed by The Last of Us’ co-director Bruce Straley, will also be making an announcement. PlayStation has also confirmed that a new look at Saros will debut at The Game Awards. Then, of course, we have to get to the bottom of the strange statue that has appeared in Mojave Desert, which the internet has pointed to being a nod to a new entry in the Divinity series.
