Apple’s Hit ‘F1’ Movie Is Now Streaming on Apple TV

Apple’s blockbuster Formula 1 drama, F1: The Movie, is now officially available to stream on Apple TV in Canada and beyond. The long-awaited streaming debut follows its massive theatrical run earlier this year, where the Brad Pitt–led film became the biggest sports movie of 2025 and Apple’s highest-grossing original film to date.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, and Apple Studios, F1: The Movie stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver from the 1990s whose career ended prematurely after a tragic accident. Decades later, Hayes is convinced by an old teammate, played by Javier Bardem, to return to the paddock and help revive a struggling team. He’s paired with rookie talent Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), setting up a classic mentor-versus-upstart dynamic.

The supporting cast includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Bardem, with several scenes filmed during actual Formula 1 race weekends to amp up the authenticity on track.

The film first landed on premium video-on-demand and digital purchase back in August, with Canadians able to buy or rent the movie through participating digital retailers. Its streaming arrival today wasn’t a surprise — Apple announced the release in October, at the same time it rebranded its Apple TV+ streaming service to simply Apple TV.

According to Deadline, F1 has now reportedly hit an impressive $629 million USD worldwide, enough to justify a rare second theatrical run in August and cement the film as a major win for Apple’s growing entertainment ambitions.

The momentum has also reportedly inspired Apple to secure a five-year deal for exclusive Formula 1 streaming rights in the United States starting next year, signalling just how aggressively the company is expanding into sports.

Apple TV currently costs $14.99 per month or $129.99 annually in Canada. If you didn’t catch F1: The Movie in theatres — or just want to relive the action — it’s now only a tap away. Have you seen F1 yet? What did you think? Let us know in the comments below!
