Fallout Season 2 Premieres on Prime Video Today, One Day Earlier Than Anticipated

The second season of Fallout is premiering early on Prime Video. The streaming service is debuting the brand new season this evening at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The premiere episode was first slated to drop on December 17th.

In a surprise announcement, Prime Video revealed that the season two premiere will drop a whole 24 hours early. In grand fashion, the streaming service made the announcement by way of an ad on the Las Vegas Sphere. In all actuality, the format of the announcement is quite fitting as Fallout Season 2 takes place in New Vegas, the post-apocalyptic remains of the city.

The new season of Fallout sees the return of Walton Goggins’ Ghoul, Ella Purnell’s vault-dwelling Lucy Maclean, and Maximus, the Brotherhood of Steel squire played by Aaron Moten. The trio of characters were all last seen on a crash course for the series’ iconic New Vegas destination.

The second season of Fallout sees the introduction of Macaulay Culkin in an unknown role. Justin Theroux also joins the cast of Mr. House, who fans of the series will recognize from Obsidian Entertainment’s beloved Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout is developed by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy onboard as executive producers. Bethesda Game Studios producer Todd Howard, who has directed multiple games in the franchise, is also signed as an executive producer.

Much like the debut season, the latest season of Fallout includes eight episodes. However, unlike the inaugural batch, which dropped all at once on April 10th, 2024, Prime Video is releasing the series weekly. The first episode will debut today at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT with all subsequent episodes premiering on Wednesday until February 4th, 2026.

Prime Video has already given Fallout the green light for Season 3. Though there has not been a release date announced for the next season as of the time of writing. Earlier this year, Prime Video announced Fallout had amassed more than 100 million viewers worldwide. It’s been ranked in the top three most-wanted titles on the service.
