Netflix Drops Stranger Things Season 5 Finale Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for the highly anticipated finale of Stranger Things, setting the stage for what promises to be an action packed end to the sci fi series.

The trailer offers fans a dramatic first look at the final chapter in the Hawkins saga as the show prepares to conclude its five season run with a feature length episode.

The newest preview highlights key characters as they brace for a climactic confrontation with Vecna, the series’ long standing antagonist whose dark influence has shaped the threat from the Upside Down since season two.

In the footage, Eleven appears determined to face the dangers ahead, while beloved figures like Dustin, Mike and Will confront chaos that has spread throughout their hometown. The visuals foreshadow high stakes, explosive conflict and deeply personal moments, suggesting that this final season will blend emotional depth with terrifying battles.

The finale episode is titled “The Rightside Up”, a meaningful phrase that echoes the series’ origins and themes of balance between worlds. It is scheduled to premiere globally on December 31, 2025, simultaneously on Netflix and in select theaters across North America.

The theatrical rollout allows fans to experience the episode on the big screen, with screenings extending into January 1, 2026 as part of a shared celebration of the show’s end.

This final season of Stranger Things has been released in three separate parts. The first four episodes debuted in late November, followed by the next three on Christmas Day. The approaching finale serves as the capstone for a story that began in the summer of 1983 with the disappearance of a young boy named Will Byers and the supernatural mysteries lurking beneath the surface of Hawkins, Indiana.

The trailer also reveals that Hawkins has been placed under military quarantine as the heroes confront the legacy of the rifts between worlds. Viewers will likely see more of the emotional ties that bind the group and how those bonds help them face their toughest challenge yet.

What? I thought the second half of the season already dropped.. Good thing I only barely started episode 2, haven't had to wait at all.

The second half is the episodes that came out on Christmas Day. I just started episode 1 so can binge the whole season without waiting. Admittedly had to watch a couple of season 4 recap videos to remember what had happened.

"Slang dropping" refers to using the word "drop" in various informal ways, most commonly meaning to release or make something public (like an album, product, or trailer).

Alot of places use the word dropping in this manner. It is what it is.
