iPhone 17 Pro Has a Weird Speaker Issue While Charging

A growing number of iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max owners are reporting an unusual speaker issue that seems to appear only when their device is charging. According to multiple complaints on Reddit, Apple’s Support Community, and other forums, some users are hearing a faint static, hissing, or crackling noise coming from their iPhone’s speakers, raising fresh concerns just months after Apple’s latest flagship lineup launched (via MacRumors).
Affected users describe the sound as similar to “an old radio” or low-level electrical interference, like coil whine. In some cases, the noise can be heard when audio is playing with the volume turned down, while others claim the static is audible even when nothing is playing at all. A few users have also noticed subtle crackling or hissing noises while scrolling through webpages, but only when the iPhone is plugged in.
Interestingly, the reports suggest the problem isn’t tied to a specific charger. Users say the static occurs with Apple’s official wired chargers, third-party options, and even MagSafe — though the noise is reportedly quieter when charging wirelessly. Unplugging the iPhone appears to immediately eliminate the sound for those affected.
Some users have gone as far as exchanging their iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max for a replacement, only to encounter the same issue on the new device. One Reddit user claims Apple Support has escalated the matter to Apple’s engineering team, suggesting the company is at least aware of the problem. However, iOS updates released so far, including iOS 26.2, don’t appear to address the issue. There’s cautious optimism that a future update like iOS 26.3 could help, but nothing has been confirmed.
It’s worth noting that this comes after earlier concerns around iPhone 17 Pro durability, including the short-lived “scratchgate” controversy, which Apple quickly addressed. Overall, the iPhone 17 Pro lineup has otherwise tested well in drop and bend tests and remains one of Apple’s most powerful iPhones to date.
For now, the speaker hiss appears to be subtle and may only be noticeable to users who are particularly sensitive to audio issues. Still, it’s something iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max owners may want to keep an ear out for — especially while charging.

Nope.
My iPad mini 5 has that issue when in use at 0% volume
I'll keep an 'ear' out for that issue, hopefully it's just a software issue.
