You Can Now Download iOS 26.2 for iPhone and More: What’s New
Apple has released new software updates today for download, which includes iOS 26.2 for iPhone and more. We knew a release was coming soon after Release Candidate (RC) builds were made available to developers earlier this month.
Here’s what’s available:
- iPadOS 26.2
- macOS 26.2
- visionOS 26.2
- watchOS 26.2
- tvOS 26.2
- HomePod 26.2
- Xcode 26.2
According to what’s new in iOS 26.2? Apple says it includes enhancements to Apple Music, Podcasts, and Games and other features, bug fixes and security updates for iPhone.
iOS 26.2 focuses on polish and practical upgrades rather than flashy changes, with the biggest improvements landing in Reminders, AirDrop, and everyday usability. Reminders can now act like real alarms through a new “Urgent” option, making them harder to miss. AirDrop adds safer temporary sharing using one-time codes, letting people share files without permanently adding contacts.
Apple also expands its Liquid Glass design with more customization on the Lock Screen and smoother system animations, while Apple Music gains offline lyrics and Podcasts now auto-generate chapters. On top of that, iOS 26.2 brings small but meaningful accessibility updates, stricter and more informative sleep scoring, performance and battery life improvements, and a round of bug fixes and security updates that make it a solid update for most users.
You can update your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > General > Software Update. It’s a whopping 10.5GB in size for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
