Mayor of Kingstown Season 5 Release Date: What We Know So Far

Mayor of kingstown final.

Paramount+ has confirmed that Mayor of Kingstown will return for a fifth and final season.

The show has been renewed for 8 episodes, and this next season will officially wrap up the series. It marks the end of what has been a gritty, intense run centred on power, violence, and survival in a prison town that never really gets a break.

The series stars Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco, and was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Canadian actor and writer Hugh Dillon.

Season four wrapped on December 28 and focused on Mike McLusky losing his grip on Kingstown as new groups moved in to fill the power gap left behind by the Russians. That shift sparked a new gang war and pushed Mike into another round of damage control, while also dealing with a new warden and unresolved personal issues.

The fourth season earned strong reviews, including a perfect Rotten Tomatoes critic score at the time of its finale.

Alongside Renner and Falco, season four featured a large supporting cast, including Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi.

No release date has been announced yet for the final season, but Paramount+ says it will close the book on the series, bringing an end to one of its darkest and most hard-edged dramas.

There’s only so many episodes of Mayor of Kingstown you can watch in one sitting, as it’s super raw and gritty. But Sheridan works his magic in yet another series for Paramount+ and Renner is awesome as always.
