Samsung Launches New Galaxy A17 5G in Canada for $269

Samsung has released its new Galaxy A17 5G in Canada. The latest entry-level device offers AI-powered features alongside a triple camera array and a gorgeous 6.7-inch AMOLED display, all for $269.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series has always been designed to speak to customers who want some of the latest core features without compromising on an affordable price. The Galaxy A17 5G is no different in this metric. It encompasses many of the features currently available across the Galaxy S25 series and yet is available for a fraction of the price.

The Galaxy A17 5G arrives with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display on the front with a small hole-punch cutout for its 13-megapixel camera. On the rear, the device features a triple camera array comprising a 50-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Additionally, the device features Optical Image Stabilization to help ensure that videos and photos appear cleaner when you’re on the move.

Under the hood, Galaxy A17 5G sports the Exynos 1330 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB or storage. The device runs on Android One UI, supporting AI features. The device expands Samsung’s Awesome Intelligent platform, which leverages AI-powered tools like Circle to Search as well as Google’s Gemini. With Circle to Search, users can draw a circle on the Galaxy A17 5G’s display to search Google for more information on what’s shown, all without leaving the app.

Galaxy A17 5G also supports a 5,000mAh battery for all-day use. With lighter use, customers can expect upwards of 48 hours of use before needing to charge the device. However, with heavier use and tools in play, Galaxy A17 5G can support around 9 to 12 hours on average. With 25W fast charging, you can get around 50% charge in 30 minutes or so.

Galaxy A17 5G arrives with Samsung TV Plus, offering access to live TV channels and 1,000s of movies and shows for no additional cost.

Samsung’s Galaxy A17 5G can be purchased for $269 on the Canadian website or through select retail partners.
