Public Mobile Sale: 50% Off Canada-US-Mexico Plans, Starting from $20
Public Mobile has introduced a rare promotion by offering a two-year price guarantee on its latest plans for new customers. The Telus-owned carrier is running a flash sale until January 26 that slashes prices by 50% for a 24-month period.
The promotional lineup includes a $20 plan with 60GB of data, a $25 option with 80GB, and a $30 plan featuring 100GB. Each of these options includes unlimited talk, text, and data usage across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. These prices are better than Black Friday and are the best prices we’ve seen to date from Public Mobile or any carrier for Canada-US-Mexico plans:
These aggressive price points are a significant move from Public Mobile to undercut competitors from Rogers-owned Chatr and Bell-owned Lucky Mobile. By offering a 24-month guarantee, the carrier is looking to secure long-term customer loyalty. This strategy helps Telus manage its churn rates, which is a key metric for investor confidence during quarterly earnings calls.
While the discounts are set to expire after two years, the lack of a contract means customers can move to a different provider once the promotional period ends. For now, these rates represent some of the lowest prices seen for Canada-US-Mexico coverage in Canada, even beating Freedom Mobile which starts at $34 for 10GB.
Last June, Telus launched a 5-year price guarantee, which is half a decade long. Now it seems to be trying out this price guarantee for its prepaid brand Public Mobile.
Who’s switching over to these Public Mobile plans?

These deals are extremely tempting Other then wifi calling, anyone know what other drawbacks are there for Public Mobile? Are u committed to 2 years if u join them?
Biggest one is probably that they offer no roaming whatsoever outside of those 3 countries, but you can leave at any time at no additional cost.
I was using an international SIM card for a long time till Freedom started offering Roam Data. So it's not a big deal for me to go back to using the international eSim card. I was wondering about the no wifi calling and the service in general.
Coverage is generally the same as Bell/Telus so it really just depends on the specific area you're in at a given moment.
I pulled the trigger. After 7 years with Freedom I moved to Public Mobile. I tried to get Freedom to better my deal before moving but they couldn’t come close to this deal. Will see how it goes for.now.
One drawback, if the network is busy, Telus customers will get network priority over Koodo and Public Mobile.
Has anyone experienced during the activation and when you add the referral code, does the code drop off the 50% in place of the $10 referral?
It shouldn't do that.
The referral code was pre-entered when using the links above.
However, I never got the rebate it seems. My card was charged 23.62, which is 20$ + 911 fee + taxes.
My two children were on Koodo Prepaid and I switched them to the 20$/60GB plan.
It's been a HORRIBLE experience with the eSim.
The phone number is normally transferred automatically, EXCEPT with Koodo Prepaid. I had to open a ticket on the Public Mobile community and wait for an answer.
It's 4:30 the day after I opened the ticket and still no answer from customer service.
So my son now has two working phone numbers, one with Koodo and one with Public Mobile!
Public Mobile seems like a good option IF YOU DON'T NEED SUPPORT. It's impossible to talk to someone, everything needs to go through their community forums. There's an AI chat bot though, if you like that sorts of things…
