Freedom Mobile Drops $39 Roaming Plan to Undercut Rogers, Telus, and Bell

Freedom Mobile has kicked off a limited-time flash sale that increases data buckets and offers international roaming perks for new and existing customers. The primary highlight of the promotion is a $39 monthly plan that now includes 70GB of data for use across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

This specific offer includes a 10GB monthly data bonus, as the plan typically provides 60GB. Freedom is also throwing in a one-time 5GB Roam Beyond data bonus, which covers 120 international destinations. However, the carrier noted that this international bonus is for data only and does not include talk or text.

It’s worth pointing out the $39/70GB pricing is the same as Black Friday from November.

Shoppers interested in the $39 deal need to act quickly, as the company says the offer expires on January 26, 2026.

Current Plan Lineup and Perks

All of Freedom’s current plans now feature coverage across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. The current monthly options are:

  • $34 for 10GB plus a 1GB one-time Roam Beyond bonus.
  • $39 for 70GB plus a 5GB one-time Roam Beyond bonus.
  • $49 for 80GB plus 15GB of Roam Beyond data including talk and text.
  • $59 for 100GB plus 25GB of Roam Beyond data including talk and text.
  • $69 for 200GB plus 30GB of Roam Beyond data including talk and text.
  • $79 for 250GB plus 35GB of Roam Beyond data including talk and text.

For customers looking at the $59 plan or higher, Freedom is currently waiving the $45 connection fee for those who sign up in-store or through customer care. This move highlights a significant price gap compared to Rogers, Telus, and Bell, as they currently charge $80 for the same service, which people online call a huge money grab.

Guaranteed Price Freeze

Freedom Mobile is also leaning into its Price Freeze Promise for this sale. The company guarantees that the base monthly price for these plans will not increase as long as the customer remains on their chosen plan. This is unlike Rogers, Telus and Bell, which normally will toss in a price increase down the road.

This deal comes as Virgin Plus and Fido jumped into the Canada-US-Mexico roaming mix, offering new plans starting from $49 per month.

Unfortunately this doesn't better my $35 plan. Try offering more at the $30 level Freedom.
