The biggest sporting event of the year is just days away. Super Bowl LX is set to take place this Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This year features a high-stakes rematch 11 years in the making as the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots.

Eleven years after Malcolm Butler’s legendary goal-line interception crushed Seattle’s hopes of a repeat, the Seahawks return to the big stage seeking redemption in this rare Super Bowl rematch against a New England squad now led by young star Drake Maye.

Whether you are hosting a party or watching solo, here is everything you need to know about watching the Super Bowl in Canada on TV and via streaming.

What time is the Super Bowl kickoff?

The game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT). Pre-game coverage across most Canadian networks will begin much earlier in the afternoon, typically around 12:00 p.m. ET, featuring panel discussions and player interviews.

How to watch on TV in Canada

For those with a traditional cable or satellite subscription, the game will be widely available on major networks. Bell Media has exclusive rights to the NFL in Canada. So that means CTV and TSN (specifically TSN1, TSN3, and TSN4) are the primary English-language broadcasters. For French-language coverage, you can tune into RDS.

If you have a digital antenna and live near a big city like Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal, you can often catch the CTV broadcast for free in HD over the air. You can find some HD digital TV antennas here on Amazon.

How to stream the Super Bowl without cable

If you have moved away from traditional cable, you have several reliable streaming options in Canada, which are not free but you’ll have to pay:

  • DAZN: This remains the most comprehensive way to watch. DAZN carries the full NFL Game Pass (and holds the digital/streaming rights to it in Canada), and they are currently offering a promotional price for the Super Bowl. It is available on almost all smart TVs, tablets, and gaming consoles.
  • TSN+: You can subscribe directly to TSN’s streaming service to watch the game live without a cable package. It starts at $8/month. Bell Media says the feed will be in 4K for TSN subscribers.
  • CTV App: If you have a cable login (even from a friend or family member), you can stream the game through the CTV app or website.
  • Fubo: This service also carries the TSN and CTV feeds for subscribers.

Who is performing the halftime show?

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. As the first male Latin American artist to headline the event solo, his performance is expected to be one of the most-watched musical moments of the year. The halftime show usually begins roughly 90 minutes after kickoff, likely around 8:00 p.m. ET (5pm PT).

The Canadian commercial catch

A common question for Canadian viewers is whether we see the famous (and hilarious) high-budget U.S. commercials. Due to “simultaneous substitution” rules, Canadian broadcasters like CTV usually swap the American ads for Canadian ones (boring!). To see the U.S. ads, you would typically need to watch via an American specialty channel or find them online immediately following the broadcast.

Who’s your pick to take home the Super Bowl? Seahawks or the Patriots?

Of course Bell screws us during Superbowl once again. There stale and self serving ads are worse than watching paint dry. If they can’t compete, don’t. We pay high cable costs so we can watch other networks. If they can’t come up with better, then quit the business!

The superbowl is NOT on TSN+. I thought it was because every time I’ve googled it, the reply comes back it’s on TSN+. So I called TSN helpline and was told the superbowl is NOT on TSN+.

Why doesn’t it show up on the TSN+ schedule then? And there’s no need to be rude!
