Rogers Launches Canada’s First World Legend Mastercard with Premium Perks

Rogers Bank and Mastercard have teamed up to launch the Rogers Red World Legend Mastercard, marking the first time this ultra-premium card tier has been made available in the Canadian market. The card is positioned above the World Elite level, offering a mix of high-end travel perks and specific credits for Rogers services.
To qualify for the new card, applicants must have a minimum annual personal income of $150,000 or a household income of $200,000. The card carries an annual fee of $495 for the primary holder and $95 for each authorized user. Currently, the card is not available to residents of Quebec.
One of the main features of the card is a 3% cash back value when rewards are redeemed toward Rogers products and services. Additionally, eligible Rogers wireless customers receive 10 Roam Like Home days annually at no extra cost (essentially free roaming when you travel). The bank is also offering a $200 annual entertainment credit that can be applied to streaming and TV services, including Rogers Xfinity and Sportsnet+.
“We’re proud to be the first in Canada to offer the World Legend Mastercard and to provide Canadians a suite of benefits that no other card can match,” said Nick Bednarz, CEO of Rogers Bank, in a statement on Monday.
Here’s what the card looks like:
Beyond telecom-specific perks, the card includes access to The Mastercard Collection, a new suite of global dining, entertainment, and travel benefits. Cardholders will also have access to exclusive dining reservations and a chance to win a trip to the McLaren Technology Centre in England.
Standard interest rates for the card are set at 20.99% for purchases and 22.99% for cash advances, though the purchase rate is scheduled to increase to 21.99% in August 2026. A notable feature for frequent travellers is the 0% foreign currency conversion fee, which is a departure from the 2.5% fee found on many other Canadian credit cards (you can also get a 0% FX fee from Wealthsimple’s debit card and Visa Infinite Privilege credit card).
While the other Rogers Red and Rogers Red World Elite are no-fee cards aimed at everyday savings, the World Legend is a $495 annual fee premium card requiring a high income. The World Legend justifies its fee with a $200 entertainment credit, 10 Roam Like Home days, and no foreign exchange fees, whereas the lower tiers offer only 5 roaming days (Elite) and include the standard 2.5% foreign transaction charge.
So how does this new card compare to something like the Amex Platinum? The Rogers Red World Legend costs less per year compared to the Amex Platinum ($495 vs. $799 annual fee) but trades luxury travel perks for connectivity benefits like no foreign exchange fees and 10 free roaming days. The Amex Platinum excels with unlimited lounge access and flexible point transfers. But the Rogers card offers better value for Rogers customers through its $200 entertainment credit and 3% cash back on bill redemptions. It’s another way to keep you glued to Rogers services if you have this credit card.
Rogers Bank confirmed that approved applicants will begin receiving their physical cards toward the end of March, with benefits becoming active once the card is in hand.

Seems like a pretty bad travel card for the annual fee. What about cash back for all purchases? What about travel points for all purchases that you can use towards future travel? My TD First Class Visa already offers lounge access and a good points system that I can book anything I want on expedia without restriction, all for a much lower annual fee.
Agree 100%
O boy are you serious. 495 for that
good luck
$390 (for two cards) after annual fee minus service credit is not a great value unless you spend a lot of time in airport lounges, travel globally (vs primarily in USA) and don’t already have a wireless plan that includes roaming.
Most users have the Regular or World Elite card due to its 2% cash back (3% on Rogers service redemption) with no annual fee. If USD$ is your focus, the world elite card gives you 3% on USD$, which is actually 4.5% after Rogers service redemption minus 2.5% FX nets to 2%, the same as the Legend card for USD$, without the annual fee.
Forgot to add the Legend card nets to 3% cash back, assuming you use the rogers redemption bonus. So I suppose it’s 1% better than the World Elite for USD$
Zero chance this card gets widely adopted. Terrible value.
Wow, good luck with that s*it! 495 annual fee…..Unbelievable how they want to suck people’s blood!
