Fido Hikes Plan Prices and Slashes Data as Promos End
Rogers-owned Fido has revamped its wireless pricing today, increasing prices and reducing data on select plans, now that ‘promos’ are over.
Here are Fido’s 5G plans as of April 21, 2026, after autopay and for bring your own device:
- $44/60GB (was $40)
- $49/20GB (was 60GB) Canada-US-Mexico
The $40 plan saw a 10% price increase to $44, while the $49 plan saw its data get lowered by 40GB down to 20GB for use in Canada-US-Mexico. Both plans now include hotspot access (finally) for free instead of being a paid option.
It’s clear this is the worst time to get a cellphone plan. The best time is near Black Friday or around the end of the quarter, as telecoms try to boost subscriber numbers ahead of earnings calls.
