Rogers Launches New Unlimited Global Data Roaming Plan
Rogers has introduced a major update to its wireless lineup, including a new unlimited global data plan that covers 64 destinations.
This new Global tier is priced at $95 per month and includes a five-year price guarantee, a move that closely mirrors recent strategies seen from competitors like Telus.
Previously, this top-tier plan was capped at 250GB of data. By shifting to an unlimited model, Rogers is targeting frequent international travellers who want to avoid the hassle of local SIM cards or daily roaming fees.
“Our new 5G+ plans reflect our commitment to deliver amazing value to Canadians,” said Anne Martin-Vachon, President, Wireless. “No other Canadian carrier brings together Priority Network Access, a five‑year price guarantee, unlimited high‑speed data and satellite‑to‑mobile roaming on one 5G+ Ultimate plan – all on Canada’s best 5G+ network.”
Rogers also says its 5G+ speeds are now up to 2 Gbps with its unlimited data. The company says the Ultimate plan also gets “priority access” when the network is busy.
North American and Caribbean Updates
The global plan isn’t the only change to the roaming lineup. Rogers also added a new $80 unlimited data plan that covers Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean. However, this specific roaming perk is only valid for 24 months.
There is also a mid-tier $65 plan with 100GB of data for Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, but that roaming feature expires after just 12 months.
Data Cuts on Entry-Level Plans
While the high-end roaming options have expanded, some entry-level customers might notice a downgrade. The $60 plan now comes with 60GB of data, a significant cut from the 100GB that was offered at the same price point earlier this month.
These changes suggest a clear push by Rogers to move customers toward higher-value monthly plans by bundling long-term roaming benefits and “unlimited” data buckets.
